Arianna Talks About Nora Ephron On 'CBS This Morning'

Posted: 06/27/2012 9:07 am

Arianna appeared on 'CBS This Morning' to remember her friend and Huffington Post editor-at-large Nora Ephron, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 71.

She spoke about Ephron's role in the creation of HuffPost.

"She gave me courage to go on with it," Arianna said, "even a lot of my friends, people who loved me, said 'Don't do it. Why do you need this? It's not going to work. Most things on the internet don't work.' She said, 'Do it, I'm here for you.' And she blogged."

Ephron wrote around 100 blogs for HuffPost and was an essential figure in the development of its Divorce section.

"One day I was staying with her on Long Island, and she said to me in the morning, 'You know, we need to launch a divorce section because marriage comes and goes, but divorce is forever. And we did, and she got involved every step of the way," Arianna said.

It was hard to watch.

Kudos to you and Charlie, for not breaking before I did, and I never had the honor or pleasure of meeting her.

Wow, what a woman. I never knew a thing about her. Charlie Rose's interviews with her were funny and revealed why she was able to write such memorable films. What wit. Sorry she's gone.
