Arianna Talks About The White House Correspondents Dinner On 'Morning Joe' (VIDEO)

Arianna appeared Sunday morning on a special edition of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" to talk about the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.

Scarlett Johansson was a guest at the HuffPost table, and Arianna remarked on how both Hollywood celebrities and some of Washington's biggest names were equally starstruck:

Aha mystery solved. During todays show around 7:15 they showed a photo of Mika and Joe visiting their ailing producer in the hospital the night of the dinner.

Mika had that dress on....so she obviously had a rocking good time and stayed up all night for the Sunday Sun Glass Festival.

Colbert Bombed!!!!
Even though critiquing Bush is like shooting fish in a barrel, it was done with great humour. One may question that any bad revues of Colbert's tour de force were because he also had some choice barbs for the media.

Colbert Bombed? That performance was a performing arts benchmark. It's up there with West Side Story and and Brando's Stanley Kowalski and it will be watched for years to come on You Tube. A magnificent performance from the man with titanium balls (As Jon Stewart would later describe him). Wake up Joe it's morning already.

Joe and Mika with the sunglasses? This and a picture of them they show of them on morning seems to be trying to make them out as sixties fashion celebrities but I still can't help but think of them as morning talk show people.

folks, i made the mistake of watching morning joe (the correspondence dinner edition) for a few moments this morning.

joe and mikka were "posing" on the whitehouse lawn with dark sun glasses, their dirty clothes from last night--mikka sticking her chest out, with a long hookerfied scarf and joe doing his best impression of the blues brothers-- trying to look --um, upscale?--naah, um trendy?--naahh, um hollywood? --stupid???---yes, that's it, stupid..

actually, they looked like two confused drunkards who had to sleep in their car because they forgot in which hotel they were staying.

exactly what i thought. they looked like my friends who stay over your house after a wedding, all hungover, get up in the morning, put their clothes back on, and slink back to the car to make their way home. Mika and Joe looked like they slinked onto the set of Morning Joe before making their way home, however.

Colbert did not bomb. He took you on and ran circles around you. His speech with the most poignant piece of journalism of that year (maybe of the whole Bush era). It was also damn funny!

The fact that they're still mewling about it A YEAR LATER speaks volumes. Obviously, Colbert's performance had a profound impact -- to be remembered with such a strong reaction an entire year later. Trust me, for Colbert or any other comedian or political/social commentator, to be remembered in a way that illicits such strong reaction, an entire year after his performance? It doesn't get any better than that.
