Arianna appeared on 'Morning Joe' Friday to talk about AOL's involvement with Operation Santa, a program that helps deliver presents to needy children every holiday season. (Watch the clip below.)
"This year Santa is getting two million letters from children who are not going to get presents otherwise," Arianna explained." "And so we are helping Santa fulfill some of these wishes that children have."
Participants in the program are matched with a letter to Santa, and do what they can to make the writer's wishes come true. The post office then makes a delivery free of charge.
This year, AOL is matching all the letters answered by its employees, as well as giving 1,000 sweaters to children.
Arianna noted that during such touch economic times, "a lot of the requests are not for toys. They are for warm clothes. And that's really what is so sad, to see children asking for a warm coat."
To take part in Operation Santa this holiday season, contact one of the 75 participating post offices across the country (click here for a list of participating post offices). You can also email us at operationsanta@teamaol.com and we'll help connect you with one of their "elves."

I'm sticking with personal gifts and mircro loans at Kiva
I give gifts whenever 365... not by $$$ supported guilt exchange. I think it's sad.
