The green room exchange was even better than the on-air interview. Thanks for sharing Arianna.

Somehow in midsummer 2008 I started to get HuffPost daily updates in my inbox (withut actually signing up for them) so I started reading them. Dunno how it happened, don't much care, because now I'm happily hooked! I love HuffPost and Arianna Huffington.

I value the diversity of views and opinions here, and after so many years of irritation with corporate media (which is inherently conservative and right-leaning because it is advertiser-supported and averse to thought-provoking political commentary that might threaten the shop-n-spend mood they want viewers to be in all the time) the HuffPost is a freth of bresh air, to quote John McCain.

I also never had high-speed internet until early Oct 2008, and so now I watch online video clips of Stewart and Colbert, which I never did before because of the excessive download times. A whole world is open via this computer connection, one that wouldn't otherwise be available to me. Not even via TV, because once again, corporate-media deep-filters out what you get to hear, see, and comment upon. Viva blogging!

I think I'll have to get out and buy the Guide To Blogging book. What an exciting time to be living and thinking in!

That "When you embed me, I can feel it" line really really needs to be put on a Daily Show T-Shirt. :D

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are my heroes. Their pointing out that the emperors have no clothes keep our government officials in the public view and, hopefully, a little more honest.

If it wasn't for Arianna, I would have sat home this election. She puts civic responsibility back in the hands of the little folks. Thank you, Arianna! In some ways, you were pivotal in getting Barack elected.

Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Keith Olbermann have been our like-minded TV pals during these dark Bush years. Stewart & Colbert turn our tears (okay, a bit dramatic, but pretty close sometimes) to laughter and KO comes out and tells it like it is!! All these guys have felt our anger and disgust and either expressed it directly (KO) or pointed out the hypocrisy and ineptitude in a way that made us laugh; and laugh hard!
I started reading the Huff Post about a year ago and it's been the print/blog go-to for the same reasons as these TV guys. I love the Huff Post!!! Arianna is beautiful and awesome!! The bloggers run the gamit from extremely insightful and intelligent, and hiliarous--- often simultaneously. (ie, Bob Cesca).
These people (TV & Bloggers) have given comfort to us (I think I speak for the majority of readers/bloggers) in showing that we aren't alone in our views. They show in their distinct creative ways
the outrage we feel is missing from most discourse on TV & print. It's cathartic and patriotic. Many Thx.

Exactly right. A while ago, during an interview, Jon said Kurt Vonnegut had kept him sane through the '70s. Jon has done the same for so many of us during the 2000s.

And not only that: Around the world, lots of people don't get Comedy Channel, but they do get YouTube, and now the HuffPo, and can see Daily Show clips. A while ago I read a comment by somebody from far away saying it gave him hope to see that Americans aren't all jerks, as our leaders during those dark years so often seemed to be.

Daily Show as our emissary of good will around the globe? Seems to be true.

Not to mention that they have gotten the younger generation more interested in politics because they can't relate to screaming suits who spin gossip.

Several young people I know feel that these shows have helped them stay on top of what's going on during the insane Bush years.

Thanks for posting the behind the scenes footage & photos. It's makes us regular old nobody's with day jobs feel connected to the scene. There has been such a great divide the last eight years between US ( we the people) and THEM ( the tyrants of the Bush government) With the Obama in the mood is changing. There is a feeling that we can have a role in our government. Posting these behind the scenes footage also helps us feel connected to the media. Every gesture helps.

That was cool. I hate to admit it, but, I actually felt sort of special getting to see this. (I had a life, before I discovered politics) Seriously, it was great to hear Jon drop the f-bomb without the bleep, and it would be cool to have him blog something once in awhile, even if he only posted old Henny Youngman jokes. He could just put his dog in front of the camera and do Alan King routines.

Dog-Vlogging!
