Arianna Weighs In On The Tension Between Palin And The Tea Party (VIDEO)

What's Your Reaction:

Arianna appeared on "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" Friday evening to talk about tension between Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement.

Tea Party leader Dale Robertson recently called Palin a "duck out of water among true Conservative Constitutionalists" and warned his visitors to teaparty.org to beware of "deceivers" and "usurpers" seeking to appropriate the group's ideals for political gain.

Arianna argued that two things that dealt a blow to Palin's image of authenticity: her double standard regarding the word "retard," and her $100,000 speaking Tea Party speaking fee.

Arianna observed that while the Tea Party clearly lacks cohesiveness, it is based on very real anger that both political parties ignore at their peril.

Palin has no association with the real tea party; nor does the real tea party have much in common with she and the neocons she is campaigning for: John McCain and Rick Perry.

A quick internet search will show you the tea party was formed in 2007 in support of Ron Paul and to protest the chipping away of our civil liberties, complete defiance of the Constitution, George Bush's quote: "that GD piece of paper" as well as calling for the end of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Palin's GOP National tea party failure for large profit, while attempting to hijack a successful non-partisan grassroots effort at the same time. Her political career is pretty much finished.

We know Tea Party people are not cohesive (neither are Democrats or Republicans) but are those people behind the curtain in complete control or is this movement getting out of their control?

There is no doubt that the the people behind curtains got what they wished from the Tea Party people - a lot of noise which has effectively skewed the general political discussion. There are consequences to bear when Te Party loudly calls Obama a socialist or a communist. And those consequences are always in line with the kleptocratic agenda.

The strategy from the right from day one has been to portray this CENTRIST President as socialist , radical , extreme and and so on.

The modern republican party, or what is left of it (being obliterated by the tea bag gers) is really the ones that are the radicals and extremists ....radical in the sense that they do NOT care if people lose everything (their homes , jobs or health) just as long as they get their tax cuts for themsleves and their big corps and banks behind them .

Even if the President DOES agree to whatever they propose or co-sign ...then they stop in their tracks ...disavow that they ever wanted whatever bill they were in agreement with and then promptly move EVEN FURTHER right or more radical.

THIS 25th ..this President is going to finally corner them all ..CENTER stage ...and tick off one by one all the points ..getting all of them to agree one way or the other ...and then show how extreme and radical THEY are and really ...

how sensible and reasonable this President is.

and then that will be the end of them.

regards... ;)

Hey Dems. Everytime I watch MSNBC, they spend most of their time bashing Palin and Limbaugh, Palin and Limbaugh... Um.... did you know that neither of them is on the ballot this November? If I were a Democrat strategist, I'd forget the Palin/Limbaugh offensive, and start defending the Dems who are facing a tough reelection battle this November. And you wonder why Scott Brown won...

The teabaggers will be at loggerheads with anybody who tries to lead them. They are anarchists who have lain fallow and unseen until pox noose gave them an unending tv stage. They are a production of fear and ignorance promoted by greed and blind ambition.

Paying someone , anyone, 100,000 to talk to you for less than an hour is NOT BEING CONSERVATIVE. And they worry about government spending. Tea Party folks need to monitor themselves better and watch out for the wolves in sheeps clothing.

The only thing I agree with Arianna, is that Tea Baggers have no cohesiveness to their movement.

I really don't think they care about Palin's hypocrisy, these are not reasonable people with critical thinking skills.

I think they are all nut jobs.
06:16 PM on 02/13/2010
And they think we're all nut jobs. I'm not sweatin it though, because they really are.
06:04 PM on 02/13/2010
Here's a fun game. Fill in the blank in this sentence.

"There's growing tension between Sarah Palin and _________".

It's seems to know her is to hate her - if the Teaparty types are starting to get turned off by her, there's hope that there is intelligent life still on the Right...well, sort of.
06:49 PM on 02/13/2010
'There's a growing tension between Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin". I await the implosion. She can't carry on with this madness and scrutiny for much longer. Either that or the baggers or GOP will be dressing her like the moose that she is. No matter just like all of what she is, never will be, and never was, it will be pop corn worthy.

Apparently American don't elect "mavericks" as McCain and Palin have annointed themselves.
