HuffPost's Howard Fineman appeared Thursday night on 'The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell' to discuss government funding negotiations and the possibility of a government shutdown.

Fineman addressed who is controlling the debate over government funding. "I'm not sure they [the Tea Party] control this right now," said Fineman. "What you're seeing is a sort of sliding scale here. You have the Tea Party people who are out rallying today, and there weren't really very many of them out there. And you had Michele Bachmann and Steve King from Iowa playing to them. Now that's the Iowa-wing which really refers to the 2012 Presidential campaign. That's Michele Bachmann already campaigning for caucus votes in Iowa in 2012. Then you have Jim DeMint who's from South Carolina, another key Presidential primary state, who is also banging his fist on the table saying you've gotta get the $61 Billion."

But Fineman concluded that at the end of the day, "Boehner is going to cut the deal, Cantor is going to squawk but he's probably going to go along with it in the end even as he tells the Tea Party people that he's sorry."
