HuffPost Editor Roy Sekoff Denounces Mission Creep In Afghanistan

HuffPost's Editor Roy Sekoff joined MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan on his show Morning Meeting today to discuss Arianna's blog post calling for Vice President Joe Biden to resign from the Obama administration over his disagreement with the upcoming escalation of the war in Afghanistan.

Sekoff argued that the real threat from al Qaida has shifted to Pakistan, and that it makes no sense to add more U.S. troops to Afghanistan when al Qaida is coalescing in a country with access to nuclear weapons. Escalating the war in Afghanistan would be a classic example of mission creep, and one that is harmful to American foreign policy:

What you're seeing right here is the zenith of mission creep. We went there to get al Qaida. General Jones, the President's National Security Adviser, says now there's only 100 al Qaida left. They're now over there in Pakistan. And what's the special thing about Pakistan? Nuclear weapons.
