Huffington Post editor Roy Sekoff appeared on "The Ed Show" Wednesday to discuss recent comments from Rep. Michele Bachmann.

This past weekend, the Minnesota Republican told a crowd in Duluth, Minn. that there is no evidence that black lawmakers were harassed by tea party protesters as they marched to the House before the health care vote. Bachmann said there is no evidence that civil rights leader and South Carolina Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) was called "nigger." And despite video of the incident, Bachmann denied a protester spat upon Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO).

Sekoff said that Bachmann's "bombs" don't surprise him, but that her willingness to question Rep. Lewis' integrity does.

Roy: The thing that really makes this example particularly loathesome, Ed is that she is impugning the integrity of John Lewis, an icon of the civil rights movement. And she's doing it on a question of race. I mean that's the amazing thing. John Lewis does not have to play the race card, Ed. He lived the race card. He was there in Selma.

Sekoff said that these sorts of attacks have come to define Bachmann. "Michele Bachmann saying idiotic things has become like an immutable law of nature," Sekoff said. "The sky is blue, water is wet, Michele Bachmann says stupid things."
