Roy Sekoff On Massachusetts Senate Race Results: 'Like A Mild Heart Attack' For Democrats

Huffington Post's Roy Sekoff appeared on The Ed Show Tuesday evening to weigh in on the Massachusetts Senate race between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown.

With various polls pointing to a victory for Republican Brown, Sekoff compared the contest and a possible loss by Coakley to a "mild heart attack" for Democrats and Obama:

It's not fatal, but it's enough to send them to the ER, and have the doctor say, 'Listen, you've got to change your ways.' So the real question is: What message does the White House take away from all of this?... What I think [Obama] needs to do is use it as a wake up call. To say I need to get back to what I ran on. I need to get back to trying to push through real reform. The things that people voted for me to do. And not this being in bed so cozy with Wall Street and big banks.

Schultz asked Sekoff why Independent voters seem to be supporting Brown. Sekoff said that he thinks it's because President Obama hasn't stood strongly enough against Wall Street, and that populist anger has turned on Democrats, who are now viewed by some as the status quo.
