On June 6, 2013 in New York, hundreds of influential men and women in media, business, politics, and entertainment gathered at The Huffington Post's first-ever women's conference, "The Third Metric: Redefining Success Beyond Money and Power," to discuss a more humane and sustainable definition of what it means to be successful.

The conference was hosted by Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Media Group, and Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe." They, and an array of panelists and speakers, discussed a new paradigm for success that includes well-being, wisdom and the ability to give back.

Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Obama, spoke about how to reconcile a hard-charging job with family time. Katie Couric spoke about the challenges of being a single mom. And a Cosmopolitan editor weighed in on the stress-relieving benefits of sex.

Cisco CTO Padmasree Warrior talked about how her once-a-week "digital detox" helps her avoid burnout, and Mark Bertolini, chief executive of the health insurer Aetna, explained how workplaces can help boost their bottom lines by offering yoga classes and meditation to workers.

Other speakers included Jill Abramson, Candice Bergen, Adrian Grenier, Today weekend host Erica Hill, Valerie B. Jarrett, Whole Foods CEO John Mackey, Institute for Mindful Leadership founder Janice Marturano, Sen. Claire McCaskill, Rep. Tim Ryan, Joe Scarborough, CBS 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl, George Stephanopoulos, and Ali Wentworth.
