The latest on the fallout from Superstorm Sandy, which hit the East Coast last week:

_ NEW JERSEY – Hundreds of thousands go a week without electricity, natural gas remains cut off to barrier islands, subway service to New York still suspended. Some schools reopen.

_ NEW YORK – New Yorkers forced from their homes by the storm will be allowed to vote by affidavit ballot at any polling site in the state.

_ WEST VIRGINIA – Red Cross and Southern Baptist Convention provide hot meals and send food and water to those without power after heavy snowfall.

_ FORECAST – Residents keep a wary eye on the weather forecast, which called for another storm, not nearly as strong but colder, to strike the region mid-week.

_ DEATHS: At least 106; figure has fluctuated as authorities release more information.

_ POWER OUTAGES: More than 1 million customers, mostly in New Jersey and New York, down from a peak of more than 8.5 million.
