WARSAW, Poland — Two Polish climbers who made world's first winter ascent of a Himalayan peak of more than 26,000 feet (8,000 meters) have given a dramatic account of their race against the clock to the summit, and paid tribute to their two colleagues who disappeared during the night-time descent and are considered dead.

Adam Bielecki and Artur Malek earlier this month completed the ascent of Broad Peak, the world's 12th highest mountain, located in Pakistan, along with Maciej Berbeka and Tomasz Kowalski, who vanished during the return to the team's camp.

A commission of climbers is to investigate whether the team took unnecessary risks.
