RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Terry Allen scored 16 points Monday night, and Richmond won its second game of the season, a 69-61 victory over Belmont in the Hall of Fame tip-off tournament.
Cedrick Lindsay had a three-point play with 12:53 left in the game to cap a 9 point-run, putting the Spiders (2-0) ahead 47-37. They extended the lead to 52-39 on Deion Taylor's layup at the 10:57 mark before Belmont made a run.
Reece Chamberlain hit a layup for the Bruins (1-1) with 27 seconds to go to close the lead to 64-61, but the Spiders finished strong, hitting 5 of 6 of their free-throws.
Trey Davis had a career-high 11 rebounds to go with five points for the Spiders.
Blake Jenkins had 4-of-7 field goals for the Bruins.
