HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Jarvis Threatt scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Sunday and Delaware handily defeated Hampton 90-79.
Kyle Anderson broke the game open with a 3-pointer at 14:43 in the first period to give Delaware a 15-12 lead and spark a 16-point run. Delaware led 45-34 at halftime and pulled away in the second half, helped by 72.7 percent shooting from three-point range, making eight of 11 attempts.
Anderson scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, and had nine rebounds and eight assists for the Fightin Blue Hens (2-2). Carl Baptiste added 15 points.
Delaware was 48.4 percent from the field on 31-of-64 shooting compared with Hampton's 45.2 percent on 28-of-62 shooting and outrebounded the Pirates (2-2) 44-36..
Du'Vaughn Maxwell led the scoring for Hampton with 24 points, Deron Powers had 17, Ramon Mercado had 12 and Emmanuel Okoroba added 10 and 10 rebounds.
