I read the entire live-blog. Totally hilarious. I wish I had been reading it live. Way better than the actual show. Great job guys and girl.
The people have spoken. Twice.
And thank you, Gavin Newsom.
I did so want Viola Davis to win. She is a very fine actress. Sean Penn gave a great acceptance speech.
But I wasn't crazy about Hugh Jackman. They did have a few new things. Some of it worked. But still too long.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Sean Penn won!
I loved the livebloggers... thanks for getting Megan Carpentier over here Huffpo! Well done!
Very funny during producer's acceptance speech for Best Picture, Dev Patel making faces with actress that played young Latika! Lovely Oscars, keep up the good work!
BS. Pro Gay bias in the house. Mickey Rourke deserved it.
Goes well with their Pro Human Rights bias.
um, really? did you watch milk?
and do you remember brokeback? how it didn't win at the oscars even though it won every other award that season?
please, no one said it was pro-indian bias that slumdog won half the awards tonight. that is ridiculous.
You don't have to be pro-gay to appreciate his performance (although I'm guessing if you're anti-gay you can't appreciate it, no matter how awesome it is).
Yes, Rourke deserved it. But so did Penn. Unfortunately there can only be one winner.
I see. So if the best actor wins for playing a gay part, it's pro-gay bias? It can't be that Sean Penn gave a GREAT performance?
what the hell is wrong with Sophia Loren's hair?
i know right?! and her dress?! wtf! but my bf and i give her props for still looking good(ish) at her age.... :)
Note to Danny Boyle: I'm glad the Oscarcast is playing well in the Kodak Theater because it sort of sucks out here.
i don't agree with this commercial they've been airing all night that says "in fashion, good taste is anything that makes a statement." i can think of many tackacious outfits that make loud statements. like, "help me, i'm wearing a fuschia curtain" or "look at me, i'm a big furry egg"... we had a lot of those tonight at the red carpet
Blue seems to be the color of the evening for the ladies.
What the heck is the director doing? Panning the camera away from the screen so people at home can't read who we are remembering. .what a rookie mistake!
I always take a moment to look at the memorial part of the Oscars, but that was just awful. The camera was moving around so much, I couldn't read any of the names! What a dumb choice!
I agree that was not done well at all.....
T/C Curt
Yeah, that was really unfortunate, especially for the people who aren't household names
Holy S%$@!!! Waltz with Bashir didn't win best foreign film!!
Ha. The original score winner, AR Rahman, said God is Great after Bill Maher insulted people who believe in God.
HAHAHAHAHA. God is Great.
um, his winning of an award is proof that god is great?
The ruins of gaza, the twin towers, iraq, new orleans, and half the world living abject poverty is my counter evidence.
No no no. Its that someone would praise God in the face of Maher calling for disbelief.
Southwindow, Man has the power and therefore the accountability for disasters, war, poverty. You can't implement a global capitalist market and then blame God for the food riots and shortage of grain.
In fact America has a lot to be held accountable for by implementing capitalism and pursuing American global dominance and primacy.
Hmm....
Maybe god doesn't like... people? *shrug*
you guys are great. this is a great way to enjoy the worst oscars in recent memory
