Nestled into the center of Chile's expansive Patagonian region rests Torres del Paine, one the most iconic and coveted national parks of the entire Patagonian region. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, the park isn't known for its high-season solitude or peaceful campsites (tents are sometimes literally placed on top of one another), but instead in its incredible diversity and iconic peaks: the Torres themselves, Paine Grande, and the Cuernos del Paine range. But, like Radiohead, peanut butter and Jennifer Lawrence, some things are popular for a reason. And while the campsites may be crowded and all campsite cooking shoved into single-room propane burner filled pasta labs, multiple days of trekking offers enough variety, epic views, sprawling landscapes, and mind-boggling topography to keep even the most solitude-seeking trekkers appeased.

Just within the popular five-day "W" route, trekkers will walk through a different landscape nearly every hour -- from rocky hillsides overlooking glaciers and iceberg lagoons to pine-forest canopies that lead them up to the Torres themselves. From the minute you step off of the catamaran that takes you across Lake Pehoe to start the trek from west to east, breathtaking views greet you around every turn, each peak more astonishing and photogenic than the last.

Explore this beautiful trek with the photos below and go there. Now.
