If you're scrambling for a last minute Mother's Day gift, look no further. We've come up with a few DIY scrubs that will have mom singing your praises while she enjoys a little at-home relaxation.

Grapefruit Citrus Body Scrub
  • 1/2 tsp. organic grapefruit zest
  • 1/2 tsp. organic grapefruit juice
  • 1 c. organic cane sugar
  • 1/2 dead sea salt
  • 2 tb. organic coconut oil (or carrier oil of your choice)
Combine zest, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add in oil and mix. Slowly drizzle grapefruit juice over and mix until incorporated. Place in an airtight container. Note: You can replace the grapefruit zest and juice with any of mom's favorite citrus fruits to add that personal touch.

Lavender Salt Scrub
  • 1/2 c. dead sea salt
  • 1/3 c. organic grapeseed oil (or carrier oil of your choice)
  • 1 tb. dried lavender buds
  • a few drops of lavender essential oil (to your preference)
Combine salt and grapeseed oil in a bowl. Mix in dried lavender buds. Store in an airtight container. Depending on how much you (or mom) like the scent of lavender, sprinkle in some lavender essential oil to bump up the power. Because dead sea salt is coarse, this is the perfect foot scrub for mom's at-home pedis!

Rose Petal Scrub
  • Rose petals
  • 1 c organic cane sugar
  • 1/2 cup organic coconut oil (or carrier oil of your choice)
Combine petals and sugar in a bowl. Slowly incorporate oil. Add a few drops of essential oils if you want a more powerful scent (we are loving jasmine essential oil this time of year). Store in an airtight container. This delicate scrub will exfoliate dry/dead skin, while the coconut oil will leave mom's skin feeling soft and elegant.

We recommend storing all scrubs in airtight containers for 7-10 days. With so many cute vintage glass jars and vessels available these days at flea markets and craft stores, it's easy to create the perfect eco-chic gift made with love.
