He was present at no more than 6 consecutive editions of the Olympic Games, practically, at all summer Olympics of the last two decades. He wrote three books, one of which received the "Book of the Year" distinction in 2004, whereas a different one is the only Romanian book located in the Lausanne Olympic Museum archive. He holds various awards, such as: three "Reporter of the Year" titles, four nominations to the Ioan Chirila Awards, an APS award. The latest addition to this list is the one received in December 2014 as "Journalist of the Year".

1. You've traveled the world, you saw a lot of beautiful places and you could live anywhere. Why did you choose to live and work in Romania?

Well, you're right, I've seen almost 70 countries all over the world but every time I am abroad I am very anxious to get back home. I do not have any specific reasons, but here, in Romania, I feel really at home - family, friends, places. Probably, I would consider living and working abroad should a good opportunity present itself, but for no more than 2-3 years maximum.

2. Why would you recommend a foreigner to visit Romania? What are the three special places that a tourist must see in our country?

I would recommend visiting the monasteries in the North of Moldova, driving along the Transfagarasan and Transalpina and maybe taking a trip to the Danube Delta. And also the interiors of Casa Poporului.

3. What is your best memory from a trip through Romania?

Unfortunately, I wish I could have traveled and visited more of Romania. I love the cities in Transylvania, Sibiu, Cluj. And the good food you find in the small guest houses in Ardeal or Banat.

4. What is your biggest struggle right now?

Maybe to find some future challenges regarding my job or to experiment some new fields here in Romania.

5. What is your biggest dream?

To be able to work in my country, to retire in good health and with a financial comfort that could enable me to live here but to visit any place I want.

6. If you could have one thing in the whole world, what would you want most?

Good health. And the second is wealth. Nothing more.

7. What is your greatest gift to the world?

Ha, ha, I think I haven't had yet the opportunity to offer the world any relevant gift.

It's the history, the people and our patriotism.
