Biden is Strongly Pro-Israel, Republican Attacks Ridiculous

?>

The John McCain derogatory hit squad is at it again. All they know how to do is to sling mud, falsify records and go negative -- no matter how ridiculous the charge.

They are reduced to such absurd tactics because they know that for Jewish voters the issues that matter like separation of church and state, true support for Israel, reproductive rights, health-care for all Americans and preserving an independent Judiciary are more important than baseless mudslinging.

McCain's first hitman is Rudolph Giuliani who yesterday criticized Obama's stance on Jerusalem. Joe Biden himself highlighted Giuliani's lack of knowledge about foreign affairs when Giuliani claimed that the North Korean and Iranian nuclear weapons programs were in the same state of development. Giuliani further displays his ignorance when he is not even aware that McCain's position on Jerusalem is less supportive of a unified Jerusalem than Obama's.

The second hitman is the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) who embarrass themselves further by attacking Biden who has been a champion for Israel ever since he entered the Senate 1973.

A 94% pro-Israel record is a solid 'A' by any calculation. According to pro-Israel voting records, that is how Biden ranks over his six terms in the Senate. RJC's leading criticism of Biden is that he did not vote for the Kyl-Lieberman resolution, a vote that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) itself does not use as an indicator of pro-Israel support.

Biden points out that you don't have to be Jewish to be a Zionist and then proudly proclaims himself a Zionist. How many other U.S. Senators characterize their commitment to the security and survival of Israel in such direct and personal ways? Biden has worked closely to protect Israel's security with every Prime Minister since Golda Meir. How many other U.S. Senators can make such a claim?

These nattering nabobs of negativism injure the long standing bi-partisan consensus on Israel for pure political gain. You would think that these fear mongerers would feel some degree of shame over their ridiculous charges about the most experienced foreign policy expert in the U.S. Senate -- but you would be wrong. Even if the Democrats nominated Golda Meir for the Presidential ticket they would charge that she was insufficiently pro-Israel.

If this how McCain runs his campaign... It's very telling what his Presidency and Cabinet would look like...

Frankly, It's not "same as Bush" but rather "Worse than Bush"

I agree with all peoples right to exist, and that includes the Palestinians. When will Israel subscribe to the same. Is is not possible to separate the extremists from the moderates within any, and all, religious and ideological groups?? It has been asked often as to where the Islamic moderates are, so that some kind of reasonable accommodation can be reached in the Middle-East. Why is this question not asked of the Evangelicals and the Zionists? It is my feeling that there is no desire to moderate, but rather amongst all fundamentalist believers of whatever faith, there is only the desire to be "right", by their definition of what "right" is.

SHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!

Let Mc CAIN wear his self out on Israel !!!!!!

Frankly most Americans and even some Jews are sick and tired of Israel being anyway part of the debate for electing a U.S. President.

We are also tired of sending Israel $ 3. 6 Billion Dollars the fist of each year.

They DRAW INTEREST on the $ 3 . 6 Billion Dollars of U.S. Aide while the USA PAYS INTEREST on the $ 3.6 Billion BORROWED FROM CHINA !!!!!!!!!!

PS Ira Forman is the real friend of Israel, like all the liberal Jews of goodwill who support Obama and Biden. There's a kind of Armageddon, if you'll pardon the expression, going on now within the American Jewish community, as the neocons and the liberals slug it out to affect the political direction of America in the post-Iraq era. My Jewish Manhattan girlfriend and all of her Jewish family and friends are fervently for Obama. They're all highly sophisticated citizens of the world, and they know that Obama and Biden, not the neocons, are the true friends of Israel.

Just about every body that goes to work in the Government these days are "true friends" of Israel.
Or so you think.

Of course he's all for Israel. That's why he and his children help Iran get favorable legislation passed in the Senate, isn't it?

well, Biden is not perfect.

Yes, Biden, should've expressed his support for the freedom loving triumvirate of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah. This would've make him a perfect. After all, this is where the true roots of democracy lay. Nice one.

This group of Republican overt crooks and misguided adventures likes to masquerade behind the conservative banner. What a joke. Conservative voters need to take the advice of the late William F. Buckley Jr., Mr. conservative himself, who said that the Republican party had gotten so bad it needed to lose, go out into the wilderness and find its lost soul, or something to that effect. Indeed, voting for honest liberals is far better than voting for phony, incompetent “conservative” Republicans. That of course being the Bush McCain duo backed by clueless Neocons. Sure John is ready. Ready to lead us down the same dead end street as before.

McCain has had his strong points (as well as his weak points) over the past 25 years. Unfortunately, during the past year or so he has become a Bush clone.

The Democrats are doing the same thing. Are we really supposed to believe a man, Biden, who has done nothing but heap praise on McCain for the last twenty-five years when he comes out tonight and completely reverses his opinion of him?

I, for one, am sick and tired of all the attack ads on both sides. They are pointless and will not sway moderate voters like me.

The Democrats are falling into the trap, again.

With respect, it is a proven fact that attack ads, fearmongering, lies deception, do work!

Many people are caused to live in fear of war or terrorist attack, and who do they turn to, the very people who's foreign policy brings terror organizations into exsistance!

Fair enough, people like you or I are well able to distinguish between fact and baloney, but a lot of people have this paranoid fear within that GOP ruthlessly exploits to their advantage.

Nice guys rarely win the gold medal, the gloves need to come off, ask no mercy and give none!

The Republicans play for keeps. You can't expect to win by playing nice when the other side is hitting below the belt.

That's exactly right. Republicans look at campaigns as all-out war. Democrats look at them as polo matches.
