I'm trying to write a kids book. So far, the publishers aren't crazy about it. I think it's my artwork. So, I'm putting this out there for everyone else to see, that is, if you'd like to help me get this project off the ground. I think it's something we can all get excited about. For your perusal, I present:

THE LITTLE GOVERNOR THAT COULD

"Where are all the conservatives?" asked the littlest governor of them all.

"They've run away, Mikey," said Pete, the GOP mechanic.

"I refuse to believe it!" said Mike with a shout. "I'll push them forward, that's what I'll do! I'll rush forward our agenda for me and for you!"

"We don't have a chance," said Pete with a sigh. "Everyone's just excited for those Democratic guys."

"I'll do it!" says Mike, and he hitches up his dreams. "Just put behind me all our conservative joys, all my crazy past statements, and I'll march this campaign straight to Washington!"

Pete's eyes glimmered with hope. "Can you really do it, Mike?"

"I think I can. I think I can."

Mike marched toward Washington, dragging the train. There were train cars full of promises to end gay marriage, and to take away women's rights to chose, and to legalize school prayer, and to lock up AIDS patients. Mike stepped one two, dragging his train, and people got hopeful, 'til they saw McCain.

"Do you really think you can do it, Mike?" asked conservatives in the nation.

"I think I can. I think I can."

Mike gained no speed, and lost some ground, but everyone on the trail knew hope could be found. Mike wouldn't stop, he wouldn't give up. McCain to him was two girls, one cup.

He thrust his way, up Capitol Hill. The primaries came flying at him, and Mike told them, "I majored in Miracles. With the help of my Jesus, this campaign will soar! McCain's no conservative! He's a moderate bore! Believe in my campaign, cause I believe in you. We've got tons of right wing work to do."

The evangelicals looked on, knowing he was on your side. "Earn us a win, Mike!"

"I think I can. I think I can."

SIX MONTHS LATER

And even though he's lost, and badly at that, with the general election completed, and nobody else paying attention, Mike's still dragging that train, aiming for the Hill. How'd you do, Mike?

"I think I can. I think I can."
