Economists Are About As Accurate As A Bad Weathermen.

How many stories of 'bad models' and flat-out dumb ass wrong predictions do we have to go through until an economist stands up and admits? "Hey, we're just guessing." Here's the latest.

Housing starts fell 12.8% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 458,000, down 12.8% from a revised 525,000 in March, according to the Commerce Department.

The reading is the lowest level since the government began keeping records in 1959. The second lowest reading came in January, when the rate of housing starts was 488,000.

Economists were expecting housing starts to come in at 520,000, according to a consensus estimate compiled by Briefing.com.

I want to be one of the economists surveyed for these things (I have economics major thank you very much) I can take a guess with a best of them. Most jobs, if you are consistently wrong, like 10, 15, 20 percent wrong, you get fired, economists get surveyed again tomorrow.

The Republicans Play The Game Better Than The Democrats.

So how's the economy? Not much better. Think the Republicans are going to start talking soon about how they were smart enough to not vote for plan "knowing it wouldn't help" hell yes.

Think Democrats would have waffled, voted for it and now start to think about back tracking, yep.

Newspaper Executives Make Economists Look Like Geniuses.

I bought a New York Times and a Boston Herald before a flight to DC. With the price increases, it was $2.50. Brilliant. I'm sure if they can jack it up to $5.00 by the end of the year, we can get rid of the whole newspaper industry and have it wrapped up for the holidays.
