What's Up At NewsLadder: Salon's "Another Nightmare Election In Florida?"

As people are focusing more and more on November 4th, there is some concern about how the voting will actually go that day. In the United States, there are two great political issues, money and counting votes.

Friday at noon, I stop by NewsLadder and see what is the top story, as voted up by everyone who posts a story, reads a story, makes a comment or votes something up or down.

Last week at this time, the top story was about the 10 Differences Between John McCain and Barack Obama, maybe that should have been the top 100 stories but either way, that single story climbed to the top of the John McCain NewsLadder and then, competing with stories from twenty other NewsLadders, it climbed all the way to the top of the core NewsLadder, the peak of the peak.

This week, of course, there is a new story. Not surprisingly, as people are focusing more and more on November 4th, there is some concern about how the voting will actually go that day. In my opinion, in the United States, there are two great political issues, money and counting votes.

In the piece at the top of NewsLadder today, from Salon, people are already being forced to wait up to eight hours to early vote, how on earth are we going to be able to count the votes on the 4th when early voting is already so screwed up?

Sure, Ted Ravelo likes Barack Obama. But two hours is a long time to stand in line to vote, especially considering that it's still October. "This has to be remedied," Ravelo, 72, said Wednesday morning, shaking his head, as he gave up on voting early -- at least that day -- at the North Miami Public Library, where a couple of dozen voting machines and their operators were struggling in vain to keep pace with a flood of citizens. "Something has to be done."

Please take a moment and click here for the rest of the story. And be prepared for a long night on November 4th.
