Is It Okay if I Read The Power of Now Tomorrow?

Seriously, I have a lot of things on my mind today, most of which concern stupid mistakes I have made in the past, and teeth-gnashingly worrisome thoughts about my uncertain but most likely dismal future. I really need to focus on them at this time.

With all due respect to my friends who are always telling me how relaxing and life-affirming it is to live in the moment, I hope it will be okay with you if I put off reading The Power of Now until tomorrow.

Seriously, I have a lot of things on my mind today, most of which concern stupid mistakes I have made in the past, and teeth-gnashingly worrisome thoughts about my uncertain but most likely dismal future. I really need to focus on them at this time.

I appreciate you wanting to help and all. And I am very glad that Eckhart Tolle's book has shown you that the only reality each of us will ever truly have is the present. But I honestly don't have spare moments to waste on something as time-consuming as appreciating what I have right now.

So, if you could give me another 24 hours to get to reading about the importance of the now, it would be an immense load off. Then, I could take the time I need to obsess about what I should have said to that toxic co-worker this morning, and spend some valuable hours living in constant fear about our global and political futures. This is what is on my agenda currently, and mixing that up with a contemplation of how at this given second I am actually okay is only going to confuse me. Not to mention mess up a rather well thought out plan that has served me well each day for decades.

Actually, maybe a couple of extra days to get to the book would be good. I mean, at some point tomorrow has to turn into the present moment, right? And when it does, I will be there, rejoicing in the power of now. I promise. So...until then, then.
