The Whine of Ann Coulter's Mini-Me

I get a bit tired of whiny conservatives imitating what they consider the worst of the Left, by pretending they are victims. Not only are they hypocritical in doing so, but usually imagining things. They whine about "special privileges" that gay people demand, but by this they mean the same rights they themselves enjoy.

Christian fundamentalists bring lawsuits, insisting they have the right to refuse to do the job they were paid to do, because it violates their religious beliefs. There is no right to a job and there is no right to a paycheck if you refuse to do the job. If you don't like the work, quit!

Now we have some whiny high school girl, Suzy Lee Weiss, who thinks the reason she didn't get into one of the four Ivy League colleges where she applied is because she is a boring, straight, white girl -- albeit one who acts extremely entitled.

She wrote: "Had I known two years ago what I know now, I would have gladly worn a headdress to school. Show me to any closet, and I would've happily come out of it."

Does she actually have any data to indicate gay students get admitted more often than straight students with the same qualifications? No. Does she need facts to make a name for herself with the entitled Right, which invents plots to undermine white, straight America? No.

In at least one television appearance, this smug, solipsistic whiner made a sarcastic remark about how her odds would have improved if she had "two mommies." Once again, there doesn't appear to be ANY data on what percentage of Ivy League students have two mommies, but I suggest it is miniscule. If Ms. Weiss has actual data, as opposed to sarcastic accusation, she is free to present it, but she seems to avoid doing that.

Two schools she applied for were Yale and Vanderbilt. According to their admission statistics, very few Native Americans were admitted to either school. In my experience, living in Western areas with many such people, virtually none of them wore headdresses to school. She may as well have whined about watermelon-eating, chicken-loving blacks while she was at it.

Vanderbilt's demographics show the total percentage of "American Indian or Alaska Native" admitted in 2012 was 0.2 percent. That comes to around 80 students out of 4,034. No doubt Ms. Weiss would like to circle the wagons and call in General Custer.

How would wearing "headdresses" have improved her odds at Yale?

A large number of Yale students (about 18 percent) are international, and are not counted in racial demographic numbers released. University statistics show that less than 1 percent -- Yale doesn't break stats down to tenths of a percent -- would fall into the stereotypical category of "headdress"-wearing students.

If Weiss wants to complain that an admitted "underachieving selfish teenage" who is "making excuses for her own failures" isn't getting in the Ivy League, that's fine. But there is no need, however, for her to single out gays and Native Americans, as if that would have made her admission more likely.

Weiss now says her column was satire, based on her "crying to my mom and she said 'I cannot hear about this any more, just go talk to someone else.'" What she left out of her column was how she was accepted at the Universities of Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania State. The poor dear. How can she endure the humiliation?

It would appear we have a solipsistic, whiny girl who feels entitled. When she doesn't get first prize and has to settle for "prestigious," instead of Ivy League, she throws a little temper tantrum. She thinks she is funny, but apparently finds gay-baiting and racial stereotyping necessary to get a laugh.

What possible career choices could she have? Perhaps Ann Coulter needs an assistant?
