Jamie Court Debates FOX's Talking Heads On The Merits Of Public Option Health Care from Consumer Watchdog on Vimeo.
Being a progressive on Fox News feels a lot like being a witch in Old Salem. You're there to be sacrificed. After the stoning I got over health care reform on Fox the other day, it wasn't a stretch to understand how the violent mob at the Tampa health care town hall said they were inspired by a Fox News host.
Someone needs to bring charges against Rupert Murdoch for inciting a nation with lies on the public airwaves.
Just watch my Fox news "debate" to see how outrageous the network has become in spinning its insidious propaganda under the label of "news." The insistent claim that the president's plan is single payer could not be further from the truth. Even as progressives stew more each day over news the president cut a deal with the drug industry, which would preclude bulk purchasing of drugs in Medicare, Fox continues to foment its lies and incite stone throwing at reformers with the zeal of terrorists. Shame on this network. It's crossed a line on health care reform in August and innocent people will get hurt at town halls across America if cooler brains don't prevail or the government doesn't step in with a warning.
If Janet Jackson can get in trouble for exposing her breast on television, shouldn't the FCC take Fox to task for blatant and persistent lies on public policy matters that lead to violence?

Fox Republican Network has gone too far. In pushing for attendance of the town halls of only democratic Congresspeople, the network is engaging in partisan politics. The FCC should take them on--if it had a backbone, it already would've done so.
The Putsch is almost complete. America has been overtaken by the nutcases, even with a majority vote for more rational voices.
The most popular Cable "news" network is Fox. They and corporate interests have a complete strangle hold on the minds of the declining Middle Class and they must desire their own destruction, ignoring common sense and their own welfare.
No need to repeat the obvious facts.
Americans just don't buy the obvious truth. Radio hosts have too much control over them.
The Minority seems to be drowning out anything reasonable.
Many people post here (and other sites) about why the extremely high rating that Fox get's don't really
matter and should not be taken seriously, I beg to differ.
Bill Maher had a nice post the other day that explained, quite simply, that we are an uneducated nation. Like how the Fox fans say, "We invaded Iraq because Bin Laden was working with Saddam," or my personal favorite, "keep your government hands off of my medicare." These fans also assert that cash for clunkers was a failure because it worked; and they wholeheartedly buy into the notion of a "death panel."
None of this is true. You know it; and I do too. But Fox is the only network trying to perpetuate these myths. So, yeah, I don't think they should be taken seriously because they don't report facts, and partisan hacks fill the anchor spot.
You couldn't pay me to believe this tripe!Am I supposed to feel sympathy for the "poor old" insurance companies? HaHaHaHaHa !!
I've found that you can't debate facts with fox because they simply make them up. To win against the propaganda machine, you have to fight the notion of the argument.; you have to call them on their ground. You can't say, "most people support a public option" because they with then bring up a manipulated partisan poll that proves, otherwise. Instead, you have to say, "1/6 of the nation is uninsured, which means that the insurance companies aren't doing their jobs, no? And if they don't do their job, then who will?"
That shifts the argument, which is what they do so well. When it's revealed that they are simply partisan hacks, they lose. You have to make them stand their ground. It's no longer about statistics; it's about which side they are on. You want people to have health insurance; they don't. At least that's how it looks.
It amazes me to see outright L1ES like we see on F0X!
And NO TIME or EFFORT TO REFUTE THESE L1ES!
This is what I don't understand. Faux cannot operate without a license and it needs to be classified. Why can't they be forced to change their designation to an entertainment channel at a minimum.
If they can't go after them for inciting hate and violence then we need stronger laws for those things.
Government / Corporate Cronyism.
And lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$
This what happens when we allow an alien[ murdock] come to the US and by all the new papers and local channels. It's all about money.
Mr. Court, I don't believe that I heard your answer about one Govt program that didn't increase costs.
I really didn't see any encitment to violence. People are passionate about this issue. It touches us all and everyone needs to be heard.
Well since YOU didn't see any encitement to violence, let me assure you that it is happening. Reading the newspaper helps to know what's actually going and expecially when you can access videos online that will clearly show you undisputed violence erupting. Here's just one link for you to bring yourself current. http://www .cbsnews.c om/blogs/2 009/08/07/ politics/p oliticalho tsheet/ent ry5224581. shtml
Hint: I did a Google News search "townhall violence" and 600 articles came up.
Secondly, you speak about increased costs. Uhh... I guess YOU have not had your insurance increase in cost and decrease in coverage and increase deductibles and co-pays so again, when you remove your cranium from your sphinctor and look around (given you give a d@mn about anyone but your own perfect situation), you might be able to see that there is NOT an all-increase to reform.
Thirdly, the article is about the bullying that goes on at Fox to continue their lies.
Quit watching Fox news and you might learn something.
The FCC does not regulate content of cable channels, which is what FNC is. Perhaps you lost the debate because of your ignorance.
If you think he lost the debate maybe it has something to do with it being SIX to one. That was a mob scene, not a fair and balanced debate.
Who needs the FCC? This is bordering on treason. It is showing an increase of war against the government by mush-heads that have nothing to offer but hatemongering. What does it say when the kil.lers of innocent people have emails and diary entries and extemist website memberships and actually name mush-heads that they are listening to that engaged them to carry out wig-flipping acts of mur.der.
To he!! with the FCC. Why are we so intent on waiting until one of our elected officials is physically harmed or worse?!?! We should all be insisting that this behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
Beat me up if you will, but I don't interpret the Constitution to be twisted to the point of physical harm through freedom of speech.
As is obvious, I'm in Texas. There are times when simply getting out of my car - that has an "Obama-Biden" sticker on it - has promted comments from wi.ng.nu.t s walking by. They simply cannot help themselves in calling me a "koolaid drinker" and much, much worse.
During the campaign, my yard signs disappeared. The sticker on my car has been replaced several times because of being scratched out - not removed, scratched all up beyond recognition.
This is frightening and is extremism. It is hatemongering and escalating at a rate that DOES promote fear. My family has had to create boundaries where political discussion is concerned. I have friends that I do not keep in touch with any longer because they, without a doubt, will spew the Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly dribble. I've been taken off of email lists because I debunk their efforts to promote birthers or the latest, Obama being shunned by the Russians, when in fact, he was introducing the American delegation. Down right silliness.
I want very much to speak to my congresswoman during this break and while she is in town. I can find no townhalls or opportunities to meet with her. This is depriving me of my voice but not discounting my vote. I am more driven than ever to support the dem candidates financially and involvment in campaigns.
Courage is what is going to help with this and other issues afflicting Americans. And you, apparently, have plenty of it. Keep up the fight. Be creative, persistent and courageous! God bless you.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I'll take that blessing for sure!
:o)
I applaud your courage. I have had the same experience here in Texas with my Obama signs and bumper stickers. It is even worse in Oklahoma where my mother lives.
I have a cousin in Oklahoma. She too is scared to death. She will not let her political views be known. That's absurd and we should not have to live this way!! It is oppression!!!
That report the insurance CEO is talking about by the Leven Grp, well let's have some honesty here, that group is owned by United healthcare, one of the largest insurers. Hello?? Isn't that more then a beit slanted in opinion. Fox Noise wouldn't know the truth if it came up and smacked them in the head.
I didn't see you on Fox News because I don't watch the Fox News Channel. However, I see clips of segments from Fox News via other media outlets. FOX NEWS/Mr. Murdoch has crossed the line, in my opinion. It should be called: "Inciting Americans to Violence" channel.
funny how faux keeps bragging about the findings of the lewin group as these great professional crew. remember the expose' recently clarifying they are a far-right leaning religious rite neocon organization who skews and omits. and their top dogs are the ones who lost some huge fraud lawsuits in ny the last couple years. only faux and worldnutdaily supporters would so proudly proclaim them as proof we should keep things as they are. public plan for me mr president!
