In Arizona, Jan Brewer(Rep)was sworn in as governor to replace Gov Janet N who joined the Obama team and Brewer took the oath with her left hand up instead of her right.

Have not heard yet if she will do it over again.

It was fun while it lasted.

Note that the Constitution demands nothing more than that the President will speak the oath before entering office. Nowhere is it said that he should have his hand on the Bible, or (God forbid) that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is involved.

I'm quite sure that a former Professor of Constitutional Law can memorize the 35 words of the oath and pronounce them correctly all by his own.

So can we lay it to rest now (thanks from the Right Side of the Atlantic).

Kidding aside, I think they need to do it again, for a third time.

This second time, they got the words right, but Roberts didn't stick "so help me God" to the last bit so Obama could repeat him. Instead, after Obama had repeated the oath itself, Roberts ASKED in a very clear ASKING tone "So help YOU God?"

Sure sounds like a religious test for office to me.......

a religious test for office is a requirement that one belong to a particular religious denomination or not belong to one as for example catholics were barred from office in the united kingdom for a period
