I was driving down Highway 1 with a friend last evening, and after about a hour's exhaustive discussion of the terrors and crimes of the Bush Administration, we realized that we couldn't really figure out who the central madman is, that is, whose worldview enthralls his (or her) companions and is thereby projected outward. First we opted for Cheney, then one of us made a case for Bush, but of course, it could be Rove, or someone almost unknown to the public, wielding power form the deep background. And it is true I have posted about this before; I admit it's a preoccupation with me. So, now it's time for a poll of Huffington Post readers. If 750 readers can respond to the smear of Jack Murtha, an equal number can type in a name (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Unidentified Other, Identifiable Other, such as Laura, Condi, etc.). When the post reaches the bottom of the blog roll, I'll tabulate the results using pencil and paper, in order to avoid electronic voting machine errors, and we shall see what we shall see. Vote Now!
