This week's season premiere of Lost showed that the creative team behind the show is not resting on their laurels. It's rather daring to think that not only have they gone from flashbacks to flashforwards which was mind blowing at the end of season 3, but now we have "flash sideways" which is the official term for the now alternate reality storyline within the show. I think the more incredible thing in all of this is most viewers have adjusted to this new story device rather well. Maybe it was due to having 9 months of speculation between last season's hydro bomb explosion ending.

I, for one, love this new plot device mainly because it allows the story to bring back some of our beloved fallen characters like Boone, Charlie, and the recently murdered John Locke. I know we are only one episode in but I felt the same excitement and love for the characters that I felt in season 1. Surprisingly, after more than a hundred episodes, all of the characters on Lost have a chance for a fresh start, while at the same time continuing their journey right where they left off last season. I'm an optimist and a "Man of Faith" in the vein of the real John Locke (Not the new scary, makes Ben soil his pants Locke). I believe every person deserves a chance at redemption and after being bitter for nine months that my favorite character's end was laying lifeless on a beach as a pawn, I have hope that this new "alternate reality" John Locke will get it right. Same goes for Boone and Charlie as well...

As part of my adventures in Hawaii, my podcasting co-host Jack and I got a chance to interview the wonderful Jorge Garcia (Hugo "Hurley" Reyes). We did this interview after seeing the premiere on the beach, and discuss many of the new elements of the 6th Season.
