New popstar, Tino Coury never expected his sudden musical success. If you had told him years ago that his songs such as his hit "Diary" would be playing nationwide, he wouldn't have believed you. He was headed for a sports career and a football scholarship. Then, a freak injury on the football field his senior year of high school, changed everything. Fate stepped in and now with the down time he began dabbling in music and began a lifelong passion.

We had the opportunity to chat with Coury about his new found success and what makes him so different than anyone else out there.

Congratulations on everything that's been happening to your career. For those who aren't familiar with your music yet, what makes your music different than all the music on iTunes and the radio?

I think the fact that I'm a producer on all my records separates me from a lot of artists out there. I bring a cool combination of beats you can dance to, attached to a story people can relate to...something that's not around as much anymore.

What was your journey like to finally get signed by your label?

The journey was really a naturally progression for me. One step led to another. I didn't try to force anything and the right opportunity came along and that's where Eleventh Records came in!

When you write a song do the lyrics come first or the melody? What's your songwriting process like?

I approach each song differently. Sometimes I'll start with a beat and write a melody/concept to it. Sometimes I'll start with a lyrical concept and build a track around it. Or sometimes I'll just get on a guitar or piano and jam until I feel something is right. I don't have the same process every time.

Who would be your ideal duet be with?

I would like to do a duet with Nicole Scherzinger.

Yeah, she's hot. Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

I see myself definitely being a producer for a lot of artists, as well as still being my own artist. That would be amazing!
