After another summer of media-magnified indecision, Brett Favre is back for a 20th season. Cleared by doctors and lured by opportunity, he'll be behind center in Minnesota for a second season, leading the Vikings charge toward Super Bowl XLV.

Favre's presence makes the Purple a clear NFC favorite. Speculation about his return has also driven up prices for Vikings home games almost 20% over the last two weeks. With the official announcement yesterday, prices were up 4% in 24 hours. While 20% is a meaningful increase, it's a blip compared to last year, when prices jumped almost 100% on Favre's un-retirement.

After coming within 60 seconds and 33-yards of SuperBowl XLIV, it didn't take a seer to know that the 40-year-old would not be able to resist one last run at a ring. Despite Ryan Longwell's .2% probability assertion, the market had largely priced in another season of Favre. Now that he's back, Favre is adamant that this season, regardless of the outcome, will be his last. Whether he can follow through and hang it up for good come February is anyone's guess.
