Band Bites: TV Girl

TV Girls, Trung Ngo and Brad Petering, are long time San Diego friends. Their groovy beats make me wanna cruise on the PCH and stop off for a milkshake, go roller skating and jump in a pool.

TV Girls, Trung Ngo and Brad Petering, are long time San Diego friends. Brad's sweet potato pancake has me curious. Their groovy beats make me wanna cruise on the PCH and stop off for a milkshake, go roller skating and jump in a pool. Ring in summer with them: spotify asap or catch them live if you are in Cali this month.

What do you eat before a show?

A special concoction that we cooked up that is scientifically determined to promote the raw sexual energy of our live show. It's oysters, red bull, bananas and vanilla extract all blended together, served at room temperature with a sprig of rosemary.

What's your favorite thing to get after a show?

That five-minute window after you get off stage where people in the audience still think you're cool, before they realize your just some nobody trying to huck some worthless merch. 'Buy our 7 inch'!

Where've you had your best post or pre-meal, and what was it?

I love the fried Panko eggs and ham breakfast from Mohawk Bend in Silverlake. I mean, I eat that in the morning, but technically that's before or after a show.

Have any groupies ever made you anything and sent it backstage?

Yes but you forgot to ask what!

If your mom was on the tour bus, what would she insist you eat? What would you insist she make?

Food would be the last thing on my mind. I would focus my energy, on figuring out: A. How we got a tour bus B. How we can afford to pay for the tour bus and C. How to get my mom off the tour bus.

Who's the best cook in the band? What's their best dish?

I, Brad, am the best cook. I make a sweet potato pancake that will make you reconsider everything you think you know about life and love. Yeah. It's good.

Who's the pickiest eater in the band? What's his/her deal?

Come to think of it, I've never seen Trung eat anything...

Any on-the-road food discoveries or restaurants or roadside vendors... some hidden gems you've come across?

Bugles may sound delicious as a driving snack, but they get old after about five of them. Go for something more standard, like a nice pretzel.

Best two dates? Worst two dates? Two dream dates?

Chicks dig gelato. S'all I'm gonna say.

I'm on the bus now. What do you want me to make?

Hey! How'd you get on here? Oh, you say you have some freshly boiled lobster with melted butter and a bottle of maker's mark? You can hang out for a while.
