I am a retired Biologist and High School Teacher living in South Carolina (near Charleston). I have always enjoyed the outdoor life and am enjoying the freedom I now have. Most of These photographs were taken in my backyard. I live on a 10 acre lake just off of the Ashley River getting the overflow from the numerous historic plantations on the river. Lots of herons, egrets, waterfowl, eagles and osprey. Many of these birds are migratory and return each year and seem to tolerate me and allow me in their world.
This first blog will be an overview of the variety of life in the area over the course of a year. Camera make and major settings will be given with all photos.
