Shame on you, Congress. Shame on all of you. You are entrusted with the fate and welfare of millions of Americans who elected you to do your job. You are betraying that trust.

Shame on you, Congress. Shame on all of you. You are entrusted with the fate and welfare of millions of Americans who elected you to do your job. You are betraying that trust.

When we go to work, our employers have reasonable expectations. They pay us to show up and to do our jobs. We are expected to perform at the highest level possible (or at least reasonably well). If we don't, then we are fired. That's how the real world operates. We don't arrive at the office and refuse to cooperate with our co-workers because our principles demand it. We certainly don't hold our employers or our clients/customers hostage while we stand on those principles, no matter how noble we claim them to be. We cooperate. We produce. Or we are replaced. Unlike members of Congress, most workers don't have two or six-year guaranteed employment contracts.

Shutting down the government is not merely pigheaded. It is childish. It is foolish. It is reckless. Millions of people will be impacted immediately because of your inability or unwillingness to talk, negotiate and compromise with one another. Holding us all hostage over the implementation of Obamacare does not make sense. It's already the law. If you don't like the law then work to change it. But do it on YOUR TIME and on YOUR DIME. Members of the House and Senate -- you continue to get paid during the shutdown, making you as hypocritical as you are narrow-minded.

The American people are sick and tired of your games. According to the latest CNN survey, just 10 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Congress is doing. That is an all time low. It's not simply a lack of approval. That same polling reveals 87 percent say they disapprove of the job federal lawmakers are doing.

Stop fighting and get to work. Put your self-interests aside and start doing the job you were hired to do. Look out for the people who elected you. Start acting like caretakers of our trust and stop behaving like a highly paid and highly frustrating group of petulant children. Shame on you.
