With the New Year approaching and everyone getting ready for fanciful black-tie parties we looked back at the hottest, eye-popping, jaw-dropping most instagram-worthy parties and events in 2015 that did not require a tie.
Use this as a good reminder to plan your 2016 getaways early, as there is a gay-friendly event every month worth traveling for.

January: Mid-Atlantic Leather, Washington, D.C.
Leather lovers from all over the country flocked to the nation's capital to shake off those mid-winter blues with their fellow kinksters.
February: International Bear Convergence, Palm Springs, CA
If you were in Southern California this February that might not have been the tectonic plates shifting it was just some friendly bears and cubs getting down on the dance floor.
March: Black Party, New York City, NY
New Yorkers left their inhibitions at the door as they pushed, pulled and stretched their fetish boundaries at the annual Black Party Expo in March. Leave it to this city to challenge your fetish tolerance.
In April, Jayson Littman from myhebro.com hosted a first-of-its-kind weekend party in Fort Lauderdale for gay Jews and those who love them. Bubbe would have been proud.
May: Splash Days, Austin, TX
Over Memorial Day Weekend Austinites let it all hang out at the only park in Texas where you can legally tan your nooks and crannies.
June: Gay Pride, Nashville, TN
June brought long days and Pride events across the country. Gays in Nashville waved their flags extra hard to celebrate the Supreme Court's decision to officially legalize same-sex marriage nationwide.
July: Reminder Block Party, Philadelphia, PA
Philly's Reminder Block Party commemorated the 50th anniversary of the first major U.S. protest for LGBT equality, which took place in front of Independence Hall on July 4, 1965.
August: Carnival, Provincetown, MA
The seven-day, no-holds-barred Carnival satisfied everyone's sweet desires with its candy theme this year. Pimped-out floats and costumes galore took over PTown's Commercial Street for this annual August party.
September: Folsom Street Fair, San Francisco, CA
The Folsom Street Fair brought the kink to over 13 blocks in San Francisco's South of Market district. Think play stations, erotic artists, gear and toy vendors, live music, dance areas and skin aplenty. This was not the block party of your childhood.
October: HNO Halloween, New Orleans, LA
New Orleans challenges even the most accomplished partiers all year long, and HNO32 Fall of The Pharaohs served to amplify the craziness of this intensely fun city. As an added bonus, 100% of the proceeds from the parties benefited Project Lazarus and the Trevor Project.
November: White Party, Miami, FL
In November the boys skipped Thanksgiving with the family and went to South Beach for one of the world's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers, White Party. White is known as the color of innocence but it surely wasn't that weekend.
December: Santa Speedo Run, Boston, MA
December is the season to embrace the ridiculous, over-the-top, holly, jolly, merry and bright. Naturally, the gays are all over it. In Boston the boys did this by stripping down to their skivvies at the annual Santa Speedo Run. Thank goodness for the unseasonably 65° weather.
