One thing others would be surprised to find out about him: I spent a couple years as a volunteer firefighter in rural India. We fought grass fires by hitting them with two square foot metal sheet attached to six foot bamboo poles.
Favorite aspect of working at Huff Po: We move fast. Tech, edit, community, you name it, we move really fast...and "no" isn't a word people use often around here.

How she got where she is: My journalism career started around 4th grade when I launched the Hillside Gazette, a neighborhood newspaper with a circulation of several dozen that had a short, but memorable, existence. I continued reporting through high school and college for local and national publications, and was attracted to HuffPost by its amazing people and the opportunity to work for an online-only publication.
One thing others would be surprised to find out about her: Growing up I had a business selling horse cookies (treats for horses, not made of horses)
Favorite aspect of working at Huff Po: People can pursue their passions. It's a place that encourages people to seek out original ideas, be bold, and break new ground.
Coolest thing she's ever done at work: Launch and oversee our tech section. It's not every day or every place you get to do something like that less than a year out of college.
What's on her tablet of choice: About two-dozen articles I've saved on Instapaper or discovered through Longform.org. The graphic novel "Joe & Azat." And, of course, our new magazine, Huffington.

How she got where she is: I've wanted to be a writer since the second grade and a journalist since high school, but didn't start covering small business until I got my first journalism job at Entrepreneur magazine.

Favorite aspect of working at Huff Po: It's great to work in an environment where people with such varied interests are united in the pursuit of great storytelling and quality journalism. And the free beverages and occasional chair massages aren't bad either.
Coolest thing she's ever done at work: Stumbled across a story idea during a conversation with a small-business owner that turned into a timely news story that made the front page splash.

How she got where she is: I was an English teacher, and then got my Master's at j-school in Chicago. After, I took an internship at an NPR affiliate then I moved to LA to work at HuffPost Impact and Education, and then was lucky enough to be relocated to the office here!
One thing others would be surprised to find out about her: I love eating native street food when I travel. The strangest things I've eaten are probably silk worm larvae and toasted grasshoppers.
Favorite aspect of working at Huff Po: The editorial staff is the most hard-working group of people I've ever met, covering every aspect of their beats with such fervor. And everyone I get to interact with is enterprising, unabashed, wicked smart and hilarious. And just in general, everyone is so boldly awesome -- I think if you look at a splash on any given vertical, it says it all!
Coolest thing she's ever done at work: I truly feel so lucky to work on Impact, so I think everything I get to do is cool. We provide real ways people can do something about all the negative news they read.
What's on her tablet of choice: I'm reading the book Arcadia right now, which is set on a hippie commune upstate.
Alma mater: Luther College & Northwestern University in Chicago for a Master's in journalism.
Her last job: Staffwriter for the Vegas Seven - a newsweekly affiliate of the New York Observer in Las Vegas.
How she got where she is: I worked in magazines, and five years ago someone recommended me to launch lifestyle content at HuffPost.
