How To Survive The Holidays Like A Hot Chick

Many of you Hot Chicks think that if you don't bestow a fruitcake and tree shaped sugar cookies to all of your friends and co-workers in December then you are a failure who might as well go back to woman school. But ladies, that's not true.

The holiday season can be an extremely challenging time to live a healthy, balanced Hot Chick lifestyle. There is too much travel, stress, food, alcohol and way too many baked goods, and all of this leaves us exhausted, bitter and hardly filled with celebratory glee. Part of this is our own fault - we put ridiculous amounts of pressure on ourselves to buy perfect gifts, host perfect parties, act as an even better guest at 500 other parties, and somehow look, feel and act perfect throughout this entirely stressful process. Well, we want you to celebrate and have fun, so we are here to help you stay sane during the holidays! Here are our tips for how to enjoy this nutty time of year and still look and feel like a Hot Chick come January.

Holiday Hint 1 - Eat, Drink, And Be Merry

The number one rule for a Hot Chick is to have fun, so we want you to go out, kick up your four inch heels and celebrate! Women should never, ever deprive themselves of the foods they love, so don't for a second think that you are not allowed to eat a slice of pecan pie or have a giant hunk of honey-glazed ham. Enjoy every little bite you take at that holiday party, don't feel guilty about it, and then the next day, eat a pound of spinach and run a couple extra miles on the treadmill. And what if the next day there is another party? Then maybe steer away from the cheese and crackers and just munch on the veggies and dip. Or the hell with it! Just go ahead and splurge (within reason) for one more night, and enjoy every, single delicious moment of it. But that is it! Partying too many days in a row is guaranteed to take a toll (or create a fat roll). And you don't want that to keep you from feeling good and fitting into that cute little outfit you bought for New Year's, right?

Holiday Hint 2 - Remember The Power Of Will-Power

Okay, we just gave you full permission to live it up in hint #1, but here we must remind you to use all that willpower you've got burning in your hot little bodies. In order to feel healthy and balanced through these celebratory times, you must remember to make smart choices - you can indulge, but don't over indulge. Think of a holiday just like any other day. If you wouldn't eat 5 doughnuts at your morning office meeting, then don't eat five cookies at your office Christmas party (sorry, "Holiday Party"). If you think you need to eat and drink 2 of everything to have fun, we promise you're wrong. We want you to stay up late and unzip your jeans to bang your boyfriend in the bathroom, not leave early and unzip your jeans because you can't breathe.

Holiday Hint 3 - Stay Home Sweet Home

Overbooking and overcommitting yourself is a good way to stress yourself out even more during the holidays. We know that so many of you Hot Chicks feel like you have to say "yes" to every holiday shindig that you're invited to. But guess what? You don't! Seriously - you don't have to go. And if you really don't want to go, well, then, you shouldn't. If you don't want to be there, then you probably won't have that much fun anyway, so it's not worth it. Attend the parties that you're excited about, but you officially have our permission to click "no" on some of those Evites so you that can stay home for one night and take some time to celebrate the peace and quiet.

Holiday Hint 4 - No Surprise Gifts

Please do not buy a gift for someone you do not usually exchange holiday gifts with. We know that sometimes it's fun to give without receiving, but whenever you give a surprise gift to someone, it's like giving them a prettily wrapped bill. They'll feel like they have to rush out and buy you something or search their house for something they can re-gift, and then they'll say something like, "Oh, I had this for you... I just haven't had time to wrap it." Please do your best to save everyone this embarrassment. If you really want to do something holiday-ish for someone new, why not take them out for a holiday cocktail? They won't feel the pressure to reciprocate, and even if they do, it'll be as simple as another trip to the bar.

Holiday Hint 5 - Stop Baking!

Many of you Hot Chicks think that if you don't bestow a fruitcake and tree shaped sugar cookies to all of your friends and co-workers in December then you are a failure who might as well go back to woman school. But ladies, that's not true. In fact, many people are actually sick of being flooded with sweets around the holidays. Homes and offices are bursting with gift baskets, boxes of cookies and tins of popcorn and you're gonna bring in a freshly baked pie? Where did you find the time to do that? Trust us, everyone will love you just as much if they don't receive your moist rum cake this year. And they might love you even more if you chill out a little bit this winter and bake them something in March when everybody at work would kill for a brownie.
