McCain Was All About The Benjamin

The McCain campaign has been saying that Obama was playing the race card when, last Wednesday, Obama said:

What they're going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, "He's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name." You know, "He doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.''

But Obama's metaphor -- "He doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills" -- wasn't random; it was a reference.

A McCain ad from 27 June -- more than a month before Obama's remark -- suggested that the very idea of Barack Obama's face -- i.e., the face of a black man -- on the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and the $100 bill was absurd.

Not only did the MSM not use this as a rejoinder, neither did Sen. Obama's campaign. They are being much too muted in their response to McCain's slanderous attacks. I know they didn't want to keep this going but we gotta keep posting.

Actually I will call you on this! I believe a republican by the name of NORQUIST played the race card a long time ago and it should be pointed out often! Thanks for giving some space to the spark that started all this "race card" crap! I have e-mailed every news outlet I can think of with a link to this. I have been ranting about it for days in various blogs. This is an issue that could serve as a glaring example of the McCain campaign's dedicated twisting of the facts on so many issues. I agree that it would be deeply stupid of the Obama campaign not to point this out. They're in real danger of being sucked into the "swift boat, people will know it's bogus" vortex. I also believe that if the MSM doesn't pick this up, it proves that they are either only interested in keeping the race "close" for the sake of ratings, or that they are in the tank for McCain. Make this VIRAL!

Another example of how the Obama campaign is not defending itself! I saw this video and report on
Jed report either late Sat. or early Sunday. If this doesn't get more coverage, it will be further evidence of the media covering McCain's a** and his ridiculous attacks. But if the Obama campaign cannot put this into play - shame on them.
