Well, sort of. Those of you close, or traveling next month, to DC: Mark your calendars for the "The Future of Civic Education in America" conference at Georgetown University, October 19-20, 2006. Associate Justice Antonin Scalia will be the keynote speaker on Thursday night. The next day I'll be speaking on the relationship between the liberal arts and civic education, along with true luminaries Hadley Arkes, Peter Lawler, Patrick Deneen, Benjamin Barber, James Ceaser, Jean Bethke Elshtain, Josiah Bunting III, Daniel Mahoney, George Weigel, and Peter Berkowitz. Lots of conservatives in that august group, with a few of us rabble rousers thrown in for possibly dissenting views.

So, Huffpo readers: What topics should I raise with Justice Scalia in that context? Please give me some ideas for pertinent questions (I like Huffpo's interactive potential for collective brainstorming sessions). I welcome and appreciate the help, and hope to see you at the conference!
