Despite delivering offbeat rock gems like "Daylight" and new single "Cameras," on and off stage couple Matt & Kim live and breathe hip hop. Knowing that, you could imagine the pure excitement the duo must have felt when rap royalty Kanye West tweeted them some love a few weeks back. Specifically, the "Runaway" star took time out from the studio to note the duo's 2009 single "Daylight" was "stupid." Don't fret -- stupid as in "stoooopid" as in... well, good. Anyways, the duo, whose last album Grand was a true breakthrough -- getting regular airplay on just about any alt-rock station, are back with their highly anticipated album Sidewalks. The album, which features ten original tunes, comes out Nov. 2 and the pair will be touring rigorously this fall to promote it (Head over to http://www.mattandkimmusic.com for full tour dates.)

Earlier this month, I caught up with the pair on line at the highly popular eatery Shake Shake in Lower Manhattan, and asked them about how Sidewalks differs from Grand, and how they felt about winning over West. Unlike their now infamous "Lessons Learned" music video, the pair kept their clothes on for this Manhattan video shoot.
