Requiem for a Neo-Con

Wolfowitz finally crashed and burned on the shoals of stealing from the world's poorest people to give to his free market friends among the global corporate elite.

In September 2000, when Paul Wolfowitz signed on to the "Project for a New American Century" (PNAC), which called "for a substantial American force presence in the [Persian] Gulf transcending the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein" little did he know that he would be instrumental in driving the United States into an intractable war, and be disgraced as a corrupt president of the world's leading lending institution.

Largely forgotten, on February 11, 2001, Wolfowitz played a key role in fomenting U.S. air strikes against Iraq's "No-Fly zone" in order to get Saddam's "attention." Wolfowitz and his neo-con buddies from PNAC saw the golden opportunity to lay down Pax Americana after the crumbling of the Soviet Union, and they lambasted President Bill Clinton for not establishing American global hegemony out of the ruins of the Kremlin's demise.

When Al Franken told Wolfowitz at a Washington gala shortly after the U.S. attack on Afghanistan: "Gee, Bill Clinton's military really performed well, didn't it?" Wolfowitz's terse reply was a simple: "Fuck you." Well, according to recent press accounts, Wolfowitz's penchant for salty language continues. At the World Bank (he headed that lofty institution since 2005), Wolfowitz, upon learning that his colleagues were calling for his resignation, said: "If they fuck with me or Shaha, I have enough on them to fuck them, too." He was referring to his longtime paramour, Shaha Riza, who Wolfowitz lavished a $60,000 raise in his capacity as the "crusader against cronyism" at the World Bank. (Ms. Riza's charms must be delectable and titillating to arouse such passion from the morose and prudish Wolfowitz).

Wolfowitz's dad was a professor of mathematics at Cornell University, and Wolfowitz earned his baccalaureate from that esteemed institution. There would be about 650,000 Iraqis still alive and 3,500 Americans had he chosen to follow in his father's footsteps and become a harmless academic. Instead, Wolfowitz-the-Younger pursued the path of power and domination to rebel against his soft, intellectual roots. He wished to show his long-dead father that he is indeed a stud-muffin, like Richard Perle, capable of kicking ass all over the world for tribal revenge and imperial profit.

A misplaced macho-man like Wolfowitz only comes once every century. When the Soviet Union fell in 1991, images of imperial glory danced in his head, and he was among the most intelligent and competent of the crop of neo-conservatives who became George W. Bush's brain trust.

God bless Wolfowitz for showing the world that even wimpy, intellectual, Jewish kids from Ithaca, New York, who summered in the Catskills, and who were never in a fist fight (let alone a war), can prove their manhood by becoming war-mongering hawks ensconced in the heavily Protestant American foreign policy elite. His misguided policies have resulted in the deaths and destruction of tens of thousands. Mazel tov!

Hooray for Wolfowitz! Hooray for the Neo-Con's Neo-Con! Boy, he really showed those elitist Goy bastards! Wolfowitz's entire career was all about his own overblown ego.

Well, he finally crashed and burned on the shoals of stealing from the world's poorest people to give to his free market friends among the global corporate elite. Poor Paul, you should have been a math professor like your dad. At least a lot of women and children would still be alive had you made a less grandiose career choice.
