The backers of the Yes on Proposition 23 campaign in California have plenty of reasons to be embarrassed:

· Their key talking points are based on lies.
· An overwhelming majority of their funding comes from oil and coal companies.
· Some of their key organizers are actually proud to be funded by out-of-state oil companies.
· Their advertisements are designed to mislead Californians.

Even more embarrassing is the fact that their entire campaign is based on a falsehood. While the Yes on 23 campaign claims that the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 is harmful to the economy, they've got it completely backward: clean energy solutions that help solve the climate crisis are actually beneficial to California's economy. To help them out, the Climate Protection Action Fund has developed some new websites the Yes on Prop 23 campaign may want to consider directing their supporters to:

The new Yes on Prop. 23 sites read, "This is really embarrassing. We've just realized that Prop. 23 is a bad idea. It turns out you can solve the climate crisis and create jobs at the same time."

A screenshot of the content on the sites is below, but you really should visit one of the Yes on Prop. 23 sites to see for yourself:

Yes on Prop 23

Whichever side of the debate the Yes on 23 campaign ends up on, the truth remains: Proposition 23 will hurt California's economy and environment. Vote "no" on Proposition 23.

I support the principles of AB 32! I want clean air! I drive a CNG vehicle. I supported AB 32 in 2006! I now support Prop 23 because I've seen the reality of AB 32 in action! L.A.D.W.P. wanted to be AB 32 compliant sooner. They have raised my electric rates 60% in 3 years at my manufacturing plant! Think about that? Imagine you are on a fixed income paying $62.50/month for electricity and in three years your bill is $100/month with no hint when the increases will stop! For us it was over $200,000.00/month! I took a 12.5% cut in pay and laid off 100 fellow employees to cover the increase in cost and keep the plant open! The new GREEN JOBS? Open up a solar panel there is an 8 out 10 chance the solar cells in those panels are made in China with coal! Melting silica for solar cells is very energy intensive. Wind turbines, just 5 years ago 8 out 10 were made in Europe, today China makes 1 out of 2. Making steel is very energy intensive and China makes theirs using coal! Should we as a great manufacturing state replace those manufacturing jobs for jobs installing Chinese stuff in each other homes? How sustainable is that??? We need to fix this at the national level with GREEN TARIFFS nothing else will work!

AB 32 is the most punitive action this state has ever done to it's poor! Yes California is a leader in green energy. Is that why we had the second highest average industrial rate of the 48 contiguous states behind New Hampshire (off the EIA web site for the DOE)??? Look the little oil companies have not spent a dime on Prop 23 since August! People we are about to get creamed again like in 2000 and the brown outs! It took Chevron to share it's data to the small oil companies how much profit their refineries were going to make because of Prop 23! I'm afraid we the little people are going to get creamed again! Hey at $5 $6 $7 per gallon it will free up the free ways; glad I bought my CNG car!!! I feel for you who commute!

PROP 26 is just as destructive as PROP 23. Prop 26 is a treacherous, Big Oil rip-off, which "passes the buck" from oil corporation, clean-up fees to the public's taxes, who will pay the oil recycling fees, the materials hazards fees and other fees. If you do not understand the ambiguities and the intrigues behind Prop 26, then, vote no. Power to the people. Shell, Exxon Mobil and BP are silent partners in Prop 26.
