Dinner at Sotto 13 Is a Must-Eat

New York is certainly not lacking in choices when it comes to food, eating and all snacking points in-between. Yet a true foodie is usually the first to admit that eating is both an art and science with a rich history as a potential full contact sport given the proper circumstances.

Yet, in this city that never sleeps the quest for a really good meal in an atmosphere that is inviting without being pretentious is often times a greater challenge than would be expected. Therefore, I feel fortunate to share with you Sotto 13, an eatery specializing in an intriguing twist on Italian cuisine in the name of specialty pizzas, tapas and a full array of libations to keep everyone's spirits lifted.

I have to make an admission, I fell in love at Sotto 13 and it was with their Wild Mushroom Pizza. I am not sure if it was the crispy crust, but alas when cupid's arrow strikes I am not one to ask questions. From the Butternut Squash Cannelloni to the meatballs accompanied by an epic wine list and array of specialty cocktails that included the Mango Margarita with Pavoneo Blanco Tequila, mango puree and freshly squeezed lime juice. The verdict? Simply one of the best meals I have had in a long time!

Located in the heart of the West Village, on 13th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, Sotto 13 has found a way to infuse tradition with a dusting of cutting-edge cuisine that is both affordable and mouth-watering. Add to that a gracious staff and Manager Giuseppe Montalto who is easily one of the most charming in the business and any night here will be a gastronomic adventure whether with friends, family or even if you are on the important and iconic first date.
