Why do we fall all over ourselves every time they do something? If media wouldn't pay any attention to them, they would be just another bunch of spoiled celebrities. Remember not so very long ago when they first took baby North West out in public?

Please, just make them stop! Dreaded Kardashians are at it again. TMZ reports that Kim and Kanye are suing a n'eer-do-well who had the unmitigated audacity to leak a video of Kanye's super-intimate proposal on bended knee in the middle of a baseball field at AT&T Park in San Francisco! Don't he know that they wanted to keep that video private, and only show it amongst themselves at intimate Kardashian family gatherings?

While the whole thing reeks of yet another in a very long line of Kardashian Clan press grabs, shouldn't we all be just a little bit embarrassed about ourselves? In some sense, you can't really blame the girl for trying. After all, she and her family do have a very long record of success at stirring up public interest. Maybe we would all be better off taking a hard look at ourselves before we decide to jump on another celebrity propaganda bandwagon. Oh, by the way, there might have been a shooting at the Los Angeles airport, too, but that's not really important when Kim and Kanye are fired up about an injustice.

Why do we fall all over ourselves every time they do something? If media wouldn't pay any attention to them, they would be just another bunch of spoiled celebrities. Remember not so very long ago when they first took baby North West out in public? All the major news outlets gave this meaningful event tons of time, while news about the conflict in Syria or a building collapsing in Pakistan gets much less attention.

Leading this well-rounded pack is mom Kris Kardashian Jenner, who managed to turn a passing association with O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson into a $20 million empire. From appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Khloé & Lamar, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Good Morning America, The Talk, America's Next Top Model and Kris to her autobiographical book, Kris Jenner... and All Things Kardashian, we have not yet shown that we are tired of her.

In search of all things public, Kris has even allowed the preparations and recovery from plastic surgery to be recorded and aired. Not to be outdone in the publicity arena Kris' dutiful daughters, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé, had dramatic photos of themselves taken rushing to a meeting at the family's office in Los Angeles on the day their parents marital split was announced. Meanwhile, youngest daughters Kendall and Kylie dealt with the upheaval by posting a number of 'selfies' in various social media outlets.

Ever the wry philosopher, Kanye West himself recently said that his now-intended has more influence than Michelle Obama in the Twitter world based on Kim's recent Tweet of herself in a bikini. The only thing he forgot to mention is that the First Lady has class and knows how to use it.

As members of the media we all need to take a look at ourselves and ask where we are allowing our "normal" to be. The Internet and social media can be good, strong and a positive influence in our universe. Instead of reacting to every twerk by the Kardashians, maybe we all need to do a little more work and actually look for news items that are newsworthy and deserve our attention.
