The Purple Lab Journey

While I'm far behind in the journey of the making of Purple Lab, Todd and I were presenting our business plan to big wigs to oversee the process and bring in contacts from their own money-savvy circles.

http://www.welcometomeet.comAre you watching that show Shark Tank? If not, it's a reality series where emerging entrepreneurs present their concepts for their business to moguls who then decide if they will invest, often competing for teh deal in a firey bid-off.

I'm somewhat addicted (even bought my brother grill charms, which I saw on the show, as a holiday gift). At times, it is like a mirror image of my life from last February to June.

While I'm far behind in the journey of the making of Purple Lab - and I should be catching up to present day somewhat soon - at this point of the path, Todd and I were presenting our business plan to big wigs - friends of friends, people we have met in passing, hiring a financial consultant to oversee the process and bring in contacts from his own money-savvy circles.

We took meetings in dream-offices we could only fantasize about owning one day. Twice, we used the most amazing space in Soho, called Meet, which has a beautiful conference room complete with large white table, chic chairs, huge screen televisions to showcase presentations, and chic seating upstairs for post-meeting mingling. And we did one pow wow in the back of a potential investor's Escalade (he had a driver, of course), as it was the only time we could pin him down.

It was daunting, often exciting, always scary and in the end, we took another road, but that part will come later.

In the meantim, this is the story.

Mwah!
