When I first got the call about covering a unique travel story in the Capital City Lake Murray Country region of South Carolina I admit at first it was hard to wrap my head around what was going on here.

The tourism folks called it a "Purple Martin Phenomenon" where every night hundreds of thousands of birds, close to a million Purple Martins would put on quite a show at sunset before swooping down onto Bomb Island on Lake Murray to roost.

Always looking for unique things to cover for my Travel Therapy TV segments on WPIX-TV & AOL I was intrigued so I headed to South Carolina and Lake Murray.

What I found still has me shaking me head in awe! Trust me, this is one you have to see to believe. Check out it. I would love to hear what you think!
