If you remember one thing from this rant, let it be this: Miley Cyrus is NOT just like us.

It doesn't matter how often she grabs a Starbucks with pals, pooper-scoops after her dogs or heads to Pilates class -- Miley is not your run-of-the-mill teenager. She's uber-rich, uber-famous and has very few of the same worries that people like you and me face. No, I'm not saying she has no worries at all, just that her worries aren't like ours, and that's the point. We can't hold her to the same standard to which we hold the early 20-somethings in our lives. She may be only 19 years old, but she is nothing like I was when I was 19 years old, and something tells me the same can be said for you.

The real question should be: Why shouldn't Miley get married? She already owns her own home, where she and fiance Liam Hemsworth have been living together and going about their business like, well, a happily married couple. Both she and Liam consistently work, building both of their bank accounts and resumes. They have been in a committed relationship for nearly three years and have shown few, if any, signs of having an unhappy or unhealthy relationship. She is, for all intents and purposes, a functioning, successful adult.

Hollywood doesn't regard marriage the same way we common folk do. Whether that last statement is right or wrong is an entirely different "great debate," but it's true. It is not uncommon for celebrities to have multiple marriages, so maybe Miley is just getting a jump start? #toosoon. You can spend millions of dollars on the pomp and circumstance of some nuptials and then spend another substantial amount of money 72 days later to make it all go away (*cough* Kim Kardashian). Money isn't really an issue and a lavish wedding certainly won't break the bank, at least for a person of her fame.

The one legitimate concern that does come to mind is her emotional maturity. Looking back now, was my 19-year-old self ready to say "I do" and become a wife? Honestly, probably yes, and she'd probably be less selfish than I would be as a wife right now, but the fact of the matter is, the rate at which Miley grew up doesn't match that of her non-famous peers. Most people didn't spend a significant amount of their teenage years trying to actively prove they weren't their cute adolescent selves. Miley did, though sometimes poorly, prove she's all grown up, and she's definitely no longer the "Hannah Montana" star we once knew.

I'll be the first one to argue that her braless jaunts all over Los Angeles certainly scream "Look at me," but perhaps a walk down the aisle to her "Hunger Games" hunk will quench her thirst to have all eyes on her. A wedding can give Miley the attention she craves in a positive way and may just stop her from all the nonsensical things she does now to get (and keep) people talking. I'd be much happier looking at her wedding photos than watching her walk out of Pilates for the 5,709,835,093 time.

Does getting married before your 21st birthday guarantee a lifetime of happiness? Probably not. But at this point there really isn't any reason to believe this won't have a fairytale ending. If she wants to be a teen bride, I say, who are we to stop her? After all, she's just being Miley.
