Readers got all riled up over this article about how having a baby causes your carbon footprint to increase 40 fold. Nothing like talking about reproduction to get people all worked up into a lather.

Love the way Barack and Malia hold their heads when they laugh. My nephew has done that since he was a baby. Their faces just shine.
See the Steve Erwin Interview. One of his last interviews. Its how children treat the enviromment that is most important to him. http://www.evadeandsurvive.com/video6
It's good to see the President out with Family. One of the last interviews Steve Erwin conducted was about what made him most happy about his work.
He responded that it was watching his children take part in environmental issues.
"It's about family", It's a great interview and important to note that we borrow our earth from our kids kids and have to give it back one day is as good or better condition then we found it.

Considering all things green, I was surprised this week to hear the T. Boone Pickens has given up on his wind corridor project. Considering the millions he put into advertising the concept I thought perhaps he might be getting flak from other energy producing firms. That wasn't the case at all.
It turns out that the Pickens concept was sound. So much in fact that he could have produced mega watts of power. The problem was in fact the our existing electrical grid system couldn't support that much power without literally blowing a fuse. In the run op to the election Obams spoke of the billions he would put into infrastructure improvements including the power grid, but alas, it was more important to keep his friends and mega supporters on Wall Street taken care of first.
No doubt according to the International Energy Commission, we will hit peak oil in just a few short years and we must find alternative sources of energy that are green. One can only hope that visionaries like Pickens may be able to move forward someday. But unless the needs of our current infrastructure are addressed soon, we may all one day wake up only to find out that it wasn't the light bulb that blew in the bathroom. It was the national electrical grid.
I'm starting to think Sasha doesn't like cameras very much. Malia is certainly comfortable, though.
She doesn't like them taking away her dad time. Think about it, your dad is talking to you and giving you all this attention and meanwhile cameras are snapping away at him.
Anyone aware of quite how devastating coal mining and mountain top removal are? This definitely deserves some serious attention: http://www.osborneink.com/2009/08/ending-mountaintop-removal.html
Amen, and its not very healthy for the minors.
Not having a job is also unhealthy for the minors. I guess I'm at a loss to understand how someone's livelyhood can be dismissed so casually. I react similarly with people addicted to cigarettes. Don't be foolish. You should quit those cancer sticks. Addiction is really simple to cure.
Of course coal mining is not very healthy. Tell the W. Viriginians what they do in the meantime while they watch their non-coal jobs being shipped over to India, China, and South Korea.
here is one for you since its August enjoy
