It's All About The Bag

Cinda needed a bag.

A very specific type of bag, mind you. Machine washable, water resistant, stain resistant, contemporary in design and, most importantly, affordable.

It didn't exist. So Cinda decided to create that bag.

We've all been there. You know exactly what you want, but it's nowhere to be found. It's how so many great morphmom stories are born.

After lots of due diligence and internet research, Cinda drew up a business plan that answered every who, what, where, when, why and how question she could brainstorm.

A former interior decorator, Cinda had the creative wherewithal to make her dream a reality and initially set up shop in a bedroom at home. The business soon outstripped the space and, when her family moved to a new home with a garage apartment, that became "cinda b" headquarters.

But when the backlog of orders again outgrew the space (and her husband realized that he had lost his garage), it was time for Cinda to seriously expand her operations. She needed more space. A lot more space. So where did she go? Abroad? Nope. Fort Wayne, Indiana. And, "cinda b" -- her first "baby" -- in its fully-formed incarnation was born.

So, as you might imagine, things got pretty hectic when, not long after, Cinda's daughter, was born. With the factory in Indiana up and running and an amazing team in place, Cinda set up her own personal base of operations at home. And although she lost even more sleep than the average mother of a newborn baby as a result, she was there for her daughter's first step, her first word, her first everything AND she was running a wildly successful business supplying a product that she, as a woman consumer, had found missing from the marketplace. In other words, it was a veritable dream come true.

But while she was now successfully manufacturing what she knew tons of women wanted on a grand scale, Cinda found that, in approaching the big retailers about carrying her product, she felt for some unidentifiable reason as if, as a mother entering a new industry -- no matter how great her product -- they were doing HER a favor merely by taking her call. When, in reality, what she was offering them -- the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a morphmom's "big idea" -- was invaluable. Make no mistake. We're a massive, hugely influential demographic. And we know better than anyone else what we want.

So take heed, my dear mothers-in-arms: Cinda, undeterred, shook off that feeling of subordination and, with the inexorable demand curve of the morphmom generation at her back, made her dream -- and a product we all wanted but didn't exist -- real. We are the wonder women of our generation, we truly can do anything and must never, even for a moment's time, allow ourselves to question our well deserved spot in the business world. Quite frankly... they are lucky to have us!
