•Have you ever dreamed you were flying?
•Have you ever dream of flying and wished you didn't have to wake up?
•Have you ever felt anything other than exhilaration in your flying dreams?
I had the honor of being interviewed by legendary rock DJ Shadoe Stevens. Shadoe is famous for originating KROQ, for taking over for Kasey Kasem's American Top 40, and for being Fred Rated in the 80's for a series of Federated commercials) -- and he shared with me about his love/obsession with flying dreams:
I'm always so disappointed when I wake up after one of these dreams. They are so amazing, I never want them to end.
As Shadoe described the way that he flies in his dreams (getting a running start, then a leap) he removed his shades, and I could literally see his crystalline blue eyes twinkle, as a smile peered out behind his cool demeanor... he looked more like a little boy on Christmas morning than an uber-ironic-iconic shock jock.
I shared with him that our flying dreams don't have to end just because we wake up. In fact, we might consider that on a parallel plane flying is our ordinary mode of transportation. Because dreams can connect us to multiple realities, we can, if we choose, dip in and carry the feeling of flying with us throughout our earth walk.
Wouldn't that be amazing?!?
Over my nearly 20 years experience, I've heard hundreds -- if not thousands -- of dreams like this. And in my experience, I tend to believe that when we fly in a dream we are connecting with our angelic/soul essence. If we don't leave these dreams on our pillows, this higher perspective can become our reference point for making decisions that uplift our spirit and the souls of those around us in this dimension.
Among other things, I believe our dreams of flying connect us with our innate feelings of freedom, joy, self-expression, lightness, confidence, creativity, and independence -- giving us the experience of how we can "rise above" our obstacles, see the world from a new, more liberated perspective, and break free from physical constraints and limitations. Think about it, from a sky-high view, even the most challenging circumstance appear small and manageable.
As we incorporate this broader way of seeing and being into our daily lives, the sky of our dreams--and the most joyous route to their fulfillment--begins to reveal itself to us.
On top of all that, I believe our flying dreams can help us to raise our vibration--and if you saw The Secret you know about The Law of Attraction being about the fact that your vibration is your inner magnet that brings unto you that which matches the energy you are sending out.
So what if marinating and meditating on the feeling of your flying dreams for a few minutes a day could actually help you to soar to new heights in your career, relationships, health, vitality, and wealth, not to mention the ways in which it can help you find out of the box solutions as you explore the vast expanse of your creative and spiritual potential! The sky is literally the limit!
Shadoe Stevens took a deep breath as he put his dark shades back on, and acknowledged that his flying dreams get at least partial credit for his trailblazing career.
Maybe they've affected me and my life more than I thought. I wonder how much more out of the box my life would be if I was even more deliberate about carrying the energy of my flying dreams into my life...
Join me (and Shadoe) by taking a deep breath while you encode the feeling of flying: freedom, liberation, and weightlessness into your cells, your bones, and your heart. Know that the universe in on your side... and that as you are lifted, all are lifted!
- Are you a frequent (dream) flyer and member of the (dream) mile-high club?
If so, what kind of flying dreams do you have? How will you incorporate your flying dreams into your waking life?I'd love to hear all about your flying dreams. Share away in the comment section below...and until we meet again... don't take your dreams lying down!
Oh, yes, here's a video for you where I elaborate on the virtues of flying dreams:
