McKenzie Liautaud thrives from traveling this beautiful world, education, pearls, and making people feel great. Liautaud stems from Haitian roots, studied psychology and went to Manhattan's Fashion Institute Of Technology specializing in accessory design. McKenzie is focused, determined, super smart and has surrounded himself with some of the best quality individuals not only in the world but in the fashion industry. Liautaud honed in his skills by working and creating hands on with famed stylists Victoria Barlet and Kate Young. Liautaud graciously made collaborations with Donna Karan, Pyer Moss and Victor De Souza to name a few.
His flock of intelligent star clients include Shakira, Rosario Dawson, Sami Gayle, Alek Wek, Wyclef Jean, & Marcus Samuelsson. They are drawn to the pieces.
While traveling on the island of Mykonos, Greece I had a rare opportunity to meet up with Liautaud and his vibrant partner. The one and only stylist Robert Verdi. Verdi is a kind soul and McKenzie's third eye. What a great third eye to have! Liautaud says clearly
Verdi is brutally honest and these qualities are completely respected.
McKenzie also shared with me the islands of Greece is where his new SS16 collection The Island Black Tie is birthed from. Liautaud's pieces are both playful and glamorous. Liautaud collects semi-precious stones, African tribal beads, diamonds and Swarovski crystals for his collections. Island Black Tie collection is designed for woman to wear everyday or on the most glamorous days of their lives.
